Kentucky men’s soccer sophomore goalkeeper Enrique Facusse was named to the Preseason (All-) Conference USA Team on Tuesday, as voted on by the league coaches.
In 2017 as a freshman, Facusse picked up a bunch of accolades including the Golden Glove Award, Freshman of the Year, First Team All-C-USA and the Conference All-Freshman Team.
Facusse led the league in conference games goals-against average (0.71), and was second in all games (0.89) last season. He won the Golden Glove award by virtue of leading the league in shutouts recorded in C-USA matches (four – tied with Old Dominion’s Mertcan Akar). Facusse had a league-best seven total shutouts.
The Kentucky men’s and women’s soccer teams will hold their annual fan day on Saturday, August 11 for all members of the Big Blue Nation to come out and meet the teams, as well as participate in a free skills clinic.
UK will play its first preseason friendly at The Bell on Sunday.
The men’s soccer slate of regular-season competitive matches opens on Friday, Aug. 24 as part of a three-match home stand.
