The nationally ranked Kentucky swimming and diving program will take its biggest stage of the fall slate Nov. 15-17, in the 13th annual Ohio State Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
Nine top-tier swimming and diving programs will gather at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion to compete in 42 events, including six diving events. In traditional invitational fashion, preliminary rounds will be contested each day at 10 a.m., while final rounds will be hosted each day at 5 p.m.
Of the seven competing men’s programs, three reserve spots in the top 25 – No. 23 Kentucky, Kenyon, No. 21 Notre Dame, No. 11 Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Yale. Nine teams makeup the women’s field, which features four ranked programs and the reigning NCAA titleholder, Stanford – No. 17 Kentucky, Kenyon, No. 14 Notre Dame, Ohio, No. 23 Ohio State, Pittsburgh, No. 3 Stanford, West Virginia and Yale.
Each of the nine programs will compete in the diving events, while Toledo will also join the diving field.
A host of opportunities is available to follow along with the invitational – live results and dive meets will deliver timely results, while meet central offers a paid streaming option.
Last season, the UK women defeated eight teams on their way to win the Ohio State Invitational for the first time in program history, while the men finished fourth. Both programs will return to the annual event Thursday with reservations in the top 25.
For the first time in eight years, the No. 23 Kentucky men are ranked after winning performances over Southeastern Conference foes LSU and Missouri, and a season-opener win over Notre Dame. The women moved up one spot in the newest poll to No. 17.
