Northern Kentucky softball will welcome pitcher Hannah Colbert in the fall of 2021 as head coach Kathryn Gleason announces Colbert’s recent signing. She will be joining NKU with three years of eligibility remaining upon graduating from John Logan College in May 2021 with an Associate Degree in Science.
“We are excited to have Hannah join us and welcome her back to the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” said Gleason. “Hannah will complete her degree and athletic career at John Logan College and then join us in the Fall of 2021. We look forward to having her add depth and speed to the pitching staff.”
Colbert is a Cadiz, Kentucky native and graduate of Trigg County High School where she was a standout on the diamond. In her junior campaign for the Wildcats, Colbert pitched 201 innings and tallied a total of 307 strikeouts with only 50 walks added to the stat sheet. Her bat was well oiled too, compiling a .368 batting average along with five home runs on the season.
Her senior crusade mirrored her play in the previous year with a 1.50 ERA to complement 231 strikeouts and just under 50 walks for the season. Colbert was impactful on the offensive end as well with 15 runs scored and 17 RBIs.
Colbert’s performances throughout her high school career earned her several individual honors, including four All-5th District Team and four All-2nd Region Team recognitions.
She will join Megan Kincer, Charlotte “Charly” Koehler, Olivia Pastin and Trinity Robertson as newcomers to the Norse softball team.
