Louisville WBB Takes on Syracuse in Crucial ACC Showdown

The Louisville women’s basketball team will face off against the Syracuse Orange in a crucial ACC matchup on Thursday, December 29. Both teams enter the game with a five-game winning streak and will be looking to continue their momentum. The game, which will be held at the KFC Yum! Center, will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra at 7 p.m. ET.

In addition to the action on the court, the Cardinals are also hosting a fundraiser for pediatric cancer during the game. Head coach Jeff Walz has accepted the Dick Vitale Coaches Club Challenge for Kids Battling Cancer and is committed to raising $20,000 to benefit the Dick Vitale Fund for Pediatric Cancer at the V Foundation. Fans can donate through this link to support the fight against pediatric cancer.

There will also be a halftime teddy bear toss at the game. Fans who bring a teddy bear to toss onto the court at halftime will receive a $5 ticket voucher for the next home game against Georgia Tech on January 5. The collected bears will be donated to Ardi’s Bears, which distributes them to children in need in the Louisville area.

The Cardinals will be looking to continue their impressive five-game winning streak, during which they have scored 70 or more points in each game and shot 50% or better from the field and 3-point range in three of those five games. Chrislyn Carr, who recently earned ACC Player of the Week honors for her performance in the Cardinals’ 81-67 win over DePaul, will be a key player to watch. The Orange, led by first-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, have a 10-2 record this season and will be looking to build on their recent five-game winning streak, including their ACC opener against Wake Forest on December 18.
