Dea Bradley is a junior guard for the Hart County High School Raiders girls basketball team and has been a force to be reckoned with on the court since her debut in the 7th grade. With 18 games under her belt this season, Bradley has already established herself as one of the top juniors in the state.
Throughout her high school career, Bradley has consistently been a top scorer and shooter for the Lady Raiders. This season, she has already scored a 446 points, averaging nearly 25 points per game. This is a significant increase from her sophomore year, where she scored 602 points, averaging almost 21 points per game, as her dedication to her craft is evident in her continuous improvement over the years. She reached the 2000 point milestone this year, making her one of the most prolific scorers in Hart County history.
Bradley’s shooting percentages have also seen a steady increase over the years. This season, she is shooting 51.00% from the field and 37.70% from behind the 3-point line. Furthermore, her field goals per game have also increased from 6.5 her freshman year to 8.7 this season.
Her performance on the court during her 7th and 8th grade years was impressive, despite being one of the youngest players on the varsity team, she played in 28 games each season. During the 2018-2019 season, as a 7th grader, Dea scored a total of 295 points, averaging 10.5 points per game. She also shot 35.8% from the field and 24.3% from behind the 3-point line. On the following season, as an 8th grader, her scoring was even more impressive. she scored 71 free throws and a total of 349 points, averaging 12.5 points per game. Her field goal percentage increased to 37.5% and her 3-point field goal percentage to 24.7%. Even though she was playing with older and more experienced teammates and opponents, Bradley was able to hold her own and make an impact on the court from an early age.
Bradley’s free-throw shooting has also been impressive, shooting at a 75.20% this season and averaging 5.7 free throws per game. This is a significant increase from her freshman year where she shot 50.00% from the free-throw line.
Dea’s dedication to her craft and her continuous improvement over the years have been a major factor in the Lady Raiders’ success on the court. With her leadership and talent, the Raiders have a strong chance of going far in the playoffs this year. With one more year of high school basketball left, it will be exciting to see how much more Bradley can accomplish before she graduates.
