The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will continue their ASUN Conference road trip on Thursday when they take on the University of Central Arkansas. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN+. The live radio broadcast of the game will be available on WCYO 100.7 FM and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.

Central Arkansas leads the all-time series between the two teams 2-0, with victories in both meetings last season. However, Eastern Kentucky will look to turn things around after falling to 8-7 overall and 1-1 in ASUN play with a 79-75 loss to Kennesaw State on Monday. In that game, Michael Moreno scored 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting and Cooper Robb added a season-high 16 points.

The Colonels currently lead the ASUN, and rank 13th in the country, in steals with 10.00 per game. They also top the ASUN, and rank 27th in the nation, in scoring at 81.07 points per game. Eastern Kentucky’s Isaiah Cozart leads the conference in blocks per game at 1.93, while Cooper Robb tops the league, and ranks 58th in the nation, with 2.07 steals per game.

Central Arkansas, on the other hand, has struggled this season with a 5-10 record and an 0-2 mark in ASUN play. The Bears have lost six straight games since defeating Arkansas State at home 72-67 on December 6th, and suffered a heart-breaking 84-79 overtime loss at home to Florida Gulf Coast on Monday. Camren Hunter, a sophomore guard, leads the team in scoring with 16 points per game, while Eddy Kayouloud, a senior guard/forward, is second with 14 points per game. Kayouloud and Masai Olowokere, a junior guard, lead the team with 5.9 rebounds per game.

Central Arkansas ranks near the bottom in the ASUN and among the bottom 50 teams in the nation in scoring defense, scoring margin, field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, turnovers per game, and turnover margin. The Bears have allowed 80 or more points in a game seven times this season, including each of their last three games.

It will be a tough matchup for both teams, but Eastern Kentucky will be looking to come away with their second conference win of the season and snap Central Arkansas’ six-game losing streak.
