🏀 Louisville WBB Hailey Van Lith Named ACC Player of the Week

University of Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith has been named ACC Player of the Week following her outstanding performances in the road games against No. 13 Virginia Tech and Florida State. In these two games, Van Lith averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.0 steals. She also hit a crucial shot with under a minute left to seal the road win over Florida State. This marks the second time a Cardinal player has earned this honor, with Chrislyn Carr being the first on December 27.

In the win over Florida State, Van Lith had an impressive showing with 20 points, a career-high eight assists, a career-high five steals, and eight rebounds. This makes her the only player in the NCAA this season to have at least 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in a game. Her eight assists were tied for the most by an ACC player this past week, and her five steals were also tied for the most by an ACC player this week. Additionally, her 49 combined points were the most by any ACC player this week.

In the game against No. 13 Virginia Tech, Van Lith had 29 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. This was the second-most she has scored in a game in her career. Van Lith is also the only player in the ACC that has scored 18 points in every conference game this season. In ACC games, she leads the league with 22.8 points per game and is tied for third with 4.7 assists per game.

Van Lith and the Cardinals are back home this week for a pair of games at the KFC Yum! Center. They will host Boston College on Thursday, January 19 and No. 20 NC State on Sunday, January 22. The game against the Eagles will start at 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra. With Van Lith’s exceptional performances and leadership, the Cardinals are sure to put up a strong showing in their upcoming home games.
