The Thomas More University men’s basketball team showed their dominance on the court with a decisive 82-60 victory over Miami-Middletown on Tuesday, January 31st. The victory improves the Saints’ overall record to 18-5, showcasing their impressive season so far.

The first half of the game was a close contest, with both teams exchanging leads. Sophomore Casey George led the Saints with 12 points and two assists, while Kyle Ross dominated the boards with six rebounds. Despite Miami-Middletown leading 36-33 at the half, the Saints would come out in the second half ready to take control.

Jacob Jones started the second half off with a fast break layup off a steal, making it a one-point game. The Saints’ offensive and defensive efforts would continue to pick up throughout the half, with Jalen Scott making a 3-pointer with 10:06 to play, giving the Saints a 16-point lead. The final basket of the game came from Eli Howard, who drained a 3-pointer to secure the Saints’ 82-60 victory.

Casey George led the Saints with 21 points and six assists, while Kyle Ross recorded his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Jacob Jones also had a standout game with 16 points, four assists, and three blocks. Wyatt Vieth contributed 15 points and seven rebounds to the Saints’ impressive performance.

The Saints shot 50% from the field, 29% from beyond the 3-point line, and 77.8% from the free throw line, showcasing their well-rounded offensive skills. The team returns to action on February 4th against Wilberforce and will look to continue their winning streak.
