University of Louisville junior guard Hailey Van Lith has added another accolade to her growing list of accomplishments, as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) named her an Honorable Mention All-American on Wednesday afternoon. This recognition marks Van Lith’s third All-American honor this postseason, following her earlier distinction as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators and an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press.

Van Lith has been a standout player for the Cardinals, leading the team with an average of 19.2 points per game, ranking second with 3.2 assists per game, and coming in third with 4.8 rebounds per game. She is one of only two Power Five players, alongside Caitlin Clark, to have averaged at least 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game this season. Van Lith was also named to the All-ACC First Team for the second consecutive season, as well as being named to the ACC First Team All-Tournament and becoming a Drysdale Award Finalist for the best shooting guard in the country.

On a national level, Van Lith ranks 17th in total points scored (634), 18th in free throw percentage (88.4), 22nd in field goals made (223), 23rd in minutes per game (36.85), and 28th in points per game (19.2). Her 634 points this season currently stand as the eighth-highest in Louisville history for a single season, with her 19.2 points per game average also tied for eighth all-time. She has scored in double figures in 31 of her 33 games this season and reached 20 or more points in 16 games.

One of Van Lith’s most impressive performances this season came in January during a road game against Florida State. She achieved 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and tied a career high with five steals. Van Lith’s jumper in the final minute sealed the victory for the Cardinals, making them the only team to defeat Florida State in Tallahassee this season. She is the only Power Five player in the country to have recorded at least 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in a single game this season.

Van Lith and the Cardinals will return to action this weekend for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. As the No. 5 seed in the Seattle 4 Regional, the Cardinals will head to Austin, Texas, for the first and second rounds. They will face off against No. 12 seed Drake, winners of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, at the Moody Center on Saturday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
