The University of Louisville women’s tennis team has clinched the 14th seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women’s Tennis Championship, set to commence on Wednesday at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. The Cardinals will face Boston College at 12:30 PM on April 19, entering the tournament with momentum after a remarkable upset win over No. 36 Syracuse on Sunday afternoon.
North Carolina has secured the top seed in this year’s championship, followed by No. 2 Duke, No. 3 NC State, and No. 4 Virginia. Each of these teams has earned double byes, advancing directly to the quarterfinals on Friday.
The ACC Championship will kick off at 10 AM on Wednesday with a first-round match featuring No. 12 Clemson and No. 13 Virginia Tech. The Cardinals’ match against Boston College will follow at 12:30 PM.
Second-round action is scheduled for Thursday, beginning at 10 AM with No. 8 Notre Dame taking on No. 9 Wake Forest, and No. 5 Miami playing the winner of the Clemson-Virginia Tech match. At 12:30 PM, No. 7 Georgia Tech will face No. 10 Syracuse, while No. 6 Florida State goes head-to-head with the winner of the Boston College-Louisville match.
Friday’s quarterfinals will start at 10 AM with top-seeded North Carolina playing the winner of the Notre Dame-Wake Forest match, and No. 4 Virginia competing against Clemson, Miami, or Virginia Tech. The 12:30 PM quarterfinals will see No. 2 Duke battling the Georgia Tech-Syracuse winner and No. 3 NC State taking on Boston College, Florida State, or Louisville.
Both the semifinals on Saturday and the championship match on Sunday are slated for 10 AM. The Saturday semifinal featuring the highest remaining seed, along with the Sunday championship match, will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
Single-day tickets for the championship are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older), while children under 9 and ACC students with a school ID can enter for free.
