Louisville’s Korbe Otis Named ACC Softball Co-Player of the Week

University of Louisville’s Korbe Otis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Softball Co-Player of the Week, as announced on April 11. Otis shares the honor with Virginia Tech’s Kelsey Brown, and this marks her third weekly award, having previously earned the recognition on February 28 and March 28.

Hailing from Littleton, Colorado, Otis showcased her skills by registering an impressive .900 batting average (9-for-10) with a double, a triple, and a home run in Louisville’s three-game series against Notre Dame. Additionally, she scored four runs and drove in three during the weekend, posting a 1.200 slugging percentage and a .917 on-base percentage.

The centerfielder maintained her consistency with at least one hit in each game, extending her reached base streak via a hit or walk to 30 games. Otis went 4-for-4 with three runs in Louisville’s 13-6 loss on Friday, tying a school record for hits in a game. On Saturday, she matched the mark again, with two singles, a double, and a triple, falling just a home run short of the cycle. Otis’s triple in Saturday’s game pushed her ACC-leading total to six for the season.

The Cardinals (25-12) will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Bloomington, Indiana, for a midweek matchup against Indiana University.
