Murray State Women’s Basketball and Head Coach Rechelle Turner are excited to announce the signing of transfer guard Trinity White from Butler University. White, who spent two seasons with the Big East side, will bring her talent and experience to the Racers for the upcoming season.
Trinity White, a 5-9 junior guard from McKinney, Texas, made 16 starts in her freshman year at Butler University, averaging 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Her freshman season highlights include a season-high 21 points against Illinois and ending the season with 172 points, 82 rebounds, 37 assists, and eight steals. In her sophomore campaign, White appeared in 19 games, posting a season-high 10 points against Villanova.
Before her college career, White was a standout high school player, earning Texas District 5-AAAAAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, McKinney High School Offensive Player of the Year, and Most Valuable Player. She scored more than 1,000 career points at MHS. In her senior year with the Lions, she averaged an impressive 17 points and six rebounds per game.
Coach Turner expressed her enthusiasm for the new addition to the Racers, saying, “Trinity is a powerful guard with the tools to attack off the dribble and the range to knock down the three-point shot; she is a great rebounder for her size.” Turner believes White’s strength and physicality in the backcourt are essential for the Racers to compete at the highest level in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Murray State Women’s Basketball fans eagerly await Trinity White’s debut in a Racer uniform and anticipate her significant contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
