Louisville’s passing attack took a major hit this week, as standout wideout Jamari Thrash announced he will forego his final season of eligibility and enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
After transferring from Georgia Tech, the junior Thrash wasted no time establishing himself as the Cardinals top receiving threat. He reeled in a team-best 63 catches for 858 yards and 6 touchdowns, claiming Second Team All-ACC honors.
The LaGrange, Georgia native provided a consistent spark for Louisville’s 10-3 squad, recording a pair of 100-yard outings. Thrash exploded for 159 yards in an early season upset of Indiana, then delivered 120 yards on nine grabs in a road clash with Pittsburgh.
His decision leaves a major void in the Cardinals aerial attack heading into a Holiday Bowl date with USC on Dec. 27. Thrash will not suit up for that contest, instead prepping for a Senior Bowl appearance on Feb. 3 ahead of April’s draft.
Thrash took full advantage of his lone season starring for the Cardinals. And his presence on the outside will be sorely missed as coach Scott Satterfield looks to keep Louisville contending in the ACC next fall.
