EKU’s Ron Franklin Jr. Named First Team All-ASUN; Nunnally, Travis, and Williams Also Honored

Eastern Kentucky University senior outfielder Ron Franklin Jr. has been named to the First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference, as announced today in the league’s postseason awards.

Freshman outfielder Tait Nunnally earned a spot on the ASUN All-Freshman Team, while seniors Bryce Travis and Max Williams were named to the Academic All-ASUN Team.

  • Stats: Hit .322 with 17 home runs, 12 doubles, 52 RBIs, 37 runs, a .689 slugging percentage, and a .403 on-base percentage.
  • ASUN Rankings: Sixth in home runs, sixth in slugging, and 10th in RBIs.
  • Conference Play: Hit .384 with 12 home runs, 33 RBIs, 23 runs, an .818 slugging percentage, and a .461 on-base percentage.
  • Highlights: Drove in six runs against Marshall on April 30 and had seven RBIs, including a grand slam, against Queens on April 14. Maintained a 16-game hitting streak this season.

Tait Nunnally

  • Stats: Batted .285 with 11 home runs, 14 doubles, 46 RBIs, 39 runs, a .531 slugging percentage, and a .353 on-base percentage.
  • Highlights: Went 6-for-6 with two home runs and six RBIs against Wright State on March 10. Hit a 2-run home run in his first collegiate at-bat at No. 15 Auburn on Feb. 16. Drove in four of EKU’s five runs in a win over North Alabama on March 24.

Bryce Travis

  • Academics: Holds a 3.77 GPA in biomedical sciences (pre-dental).
  • Achievements: Selected to the ASUN Conference Honor Roll the past two seasons and the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2021.
  • Performance: Leads the nation with 32 appearances this season, posting a 5.01 ERA and a 1-1 record.

Max Williams

  • Academics: Holds a 3.80 GPA in general business.
  • Achievements: Two-time ASUN Conference Honor Roll selection and named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2021.
  • Performance: Hit .320 with 13 doubles, nine home runs, 38 RBIs, and 30 runs scored this season.

EKU, the No. 8 seed, will begin the ASUN Tournament Pool B double elimination bracket on Tuesday against No. 5 seed Jacksonville at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be held at Stetson University’s Melching Field at Conrad Park and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
