The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program, led by head coach Kenny Brooks, revealed its Southeastern Conference (SEC) home and away opponents for the upcoming season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Conference Matchup Highlights
Under Coach Brooks’ new leadership, the Wildcats are set to compete against conference rivals in 16 regular-season games, evenly split between eight home games and eight away games.
Home Court Advantage
Kentucky will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Texas in the newly renovated Memorial Coliseum, a testament to the $82 million investment in the program’s facilities.
On the Road
On their travels, the Wildcats will face off against Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma during the 2024-25 season.
Updated Conference Dynamics
The addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC has prompted a restructuring of the conference schedule. Each team will now have just one rotating opponent instead of three. Kentucky will meet Mississippi State twice next season, while the rotating opponent for each program will change annually.
End of an Era
As part of the updated format, Kentucky and South Carolina will conclude a longstanding rivalry that spanned three decades. The Gamecocks and the Wildcats have competed in a home-and-away series every season since 1995-96. This marks the end of a significant chapter in SEC women’s basketball history.
Kentucky’s home-and-away opponents for the upcoming season are as follows:
