Louisville Baseball wins Series Opener vs Boston College

Louisville clinched a 12-7 victory in the first game of the series on Thursday night.

In a thrilling start to their longest road trip of the season, Louisville (27-18, 11-11 ACC) seized control early, scoring five runs in the opening inning. JT Benson’s leadoff double set the tone, with Dylan Hoy and Gavin Kilen contributing RBIs to build a commanding lead.

Pitcher Sebastian Gongora kept Boston College (21-23, 8-17) at bay, pitching six scoreless innings before encountering trouble in the seventh. Despite a late rally from Boston College, Louisville’s offense continued to deliver, extending the lead in the eighth inning.

A standout performance from Patrick Forbes closed out the game, securing the win and Forbes’ first save of the season.

Sebastian Gongora earned the win with his solid pitching display, supported by a balanced offensive effort from Louisville’s lineup.
