The University of Louisville baseball team had three players recognized as the ACC announced its yearly awards on Monday.
Evan Webster was named to the All-ACC Second Team, Gavin Kilen earned a spot on the Third Team, and Zion Rose was selected for the All-ACC Freshman Team. The ACC season honors were determined by votes from the league’s 14 head coaches.
Evan Webster
- Position: Saturday Starter
- Stats: 5-2 record, 3.54 ERA, 68.2 innings, 60 strikeouts
- ACC Rankings: Fourth in walks per nine innings, seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio
- Performance: Webster excelled in his fifth season, starting all 14 weekends and setting career highs in innings pitched and strikeouts.
Gavin Kilen
- Position: Sophomore Infielder
- Stats: .333 average, 69 hits, 22 doubles, 124 total bases, nine home runs
- ACC Rankings: Led the ACC in doubles
- Performance: Kilen led Louisville in hits, doubles, and total bases, tallying 34 extra-base hits after not homering as a freshman.
Zion Rose
- Position: Freshman Outfielder
- Stats: .382 batting average, eight doubles, five triples, four home runs, 10 stolen bases, 19 walks, 18 strikeouts
- Performance: Rose led the Cardinals in batting average and made an immediate impact with his consistent hitting and base running.
The Cardinals, seeded seventh, will compete in the ACC Baseball Championship at Truist Field in Charlotte, N.C. Louisville will begin pool play against Miami on Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET and face Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. ET. If they win both games, they will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, with the championship game set for Sunday. All ACC Championship games will be broadcast on ACC Network, except the final, which will air on ESPN2.
