UofL men’s tennis tandem Etienne Donnet and Natan Rodrigues, ranked #8 and holding a 14-5 record, will start their journey in the 2024 NCAA Men’s Tennis Doubles Championship on Tuesday.
The duo is set to compete against #57 Codie Van Schalkwyk and Connor Van Schalkwyk from Old Dominion on Tuesday. The brothers from the Sun Belt Conference have an 11-6 record in doubles this year.
Unlike the regular collegiate season, doubles matches in the NCAA Championship are played best two out of three sets.
Louisville’s Donnet and Rodrigues earned a top-eight seed in the doubles championship, which automatically grants them ITA All-American honors for the 2023-24 season. This marks the second consecutive year that Rodrigues is a Doubles All-American, while it is the first such honor for fifth-year player Donnet.
If they advance, the Cardinals will face the winner of the match between Freddy Blaydes/Niels Ratiu of Georgia and Ondrej Horak/Leo Raquin of Middle Tennessee.
