EKU Seniors Earn Academic All-District Baseball Honors

Eastern Kentucky University seniors Bryce Travis and Max Williams have been named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Baseball Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing their outstanding performances both on the field and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District® Teams honor the nation’s top student-athletes for their dual achievements in athletics and academics.

Bryce Travis, a biomedical sciences (pre-dental) major, boasts a 3.77 grade-point-average and has been a consistent academic achiever. A member of the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team, Travis has also been named to the ASUN Conference Honor Roll for the past two years and the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2021. On the field, the left-handed pitcher from Richmond, Kentucky, led the ASUN Conference with 34 appearances this season, ranking fifth nationally. Travis finished the season with a 1-1 record and a 4.81 ERA. In EKU’s final game of the season, he set new program records for appearances in a season (34) and career appearances (108).

Max Williams, hailing from Lexington, Kentucky, is majoring in general business and maintains a 3.80 grade-point-average. He, too, was named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team and has twice been selected to the ASUN Conference Honor Roll. Williams also earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2021. This season, Williams excelled as an outfielder, hitting .311 with 13 doubles, nine home runs, 38 RBIs, and 30 runs scored.

Travis and Williams exemplify the true spirit of student-athletes, excelling both in their academic pursuits and athletic careers, making Eastern Kentucky University proud with their exemplary performances.
