EKU Track & Field Trio Secures All-American Honors at NCAAs

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels continued their impressive run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Wednesday, with three athletes securing All-American honors at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Leading the charge was Hakim Abouzouhir, who dominated his heat in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, cruising to a time of 8:32.58. This dominant performance not only secured his place in Friday’s final but also guaranteed him All-American recognition for the second consecutive outdoor season. Abouzouhir will be aiming to add an NCAA title to his growing list of accolades when he returns to the track on Friday.

Kristian Imroth also made his mark on the national stage, earning All-American Honorable Mention honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Imroth battled valiantly, finishing in 21st place with a time of 8:52.92.

Nikodem Dworczak rounded out EKU’s impressive day by securing All-American Honorable Mention recognition in the 10,000 meters. Dworczak crossed the finish line in 20th place with a time of 29:25.68, showcasing his talent and dedication on the national stage.

All eyes will be on Abouzouhir on Friday evening as he competes for the national championship title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final.
