Kentucky men’s soccer head coach Johan Cedergren unveiled the program’s 2024 fall schedule on Friday afternoon, detailing the dates, times, and locations for the Wildcats’ upcoming season. The schedule features two exhibition matches, seven non-conference games, and nine Sun Belt Conference fixtures.
Exhibition Matches
The Wildcats will kick off their season on the road with an exhibition match against Memphis on August 11, hosted at The Range at Station Camp High School in Gallatin, Tennessee. They will then return to Lexington for a home exhibition match against Northern Kentucky at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex on August 16.
Non-Conference Schedule
Kentucky’s regular season will commence at The Bell with a home game against Oral Roberts on August 22 at 7:30 p.m. EST. Following a nearly two-week hiatus, the Wildcats will host Virginia Tech on September 2 and Wisconsin-Madison on September 9, both starting at 7:30 p.m. EST. The highly anticipated in-state rivalry match against Louisville will also take place on September 9 at 7:30 p.m. EST.
The Wildcats’ first true road test will occur in Nashville, Tennessee, where they will face Lipscomb on September 14.
Sun Belt Conference Play
Conference play begins on September 20 with a home match against Georgia Southern at 7:30 p.m. EST at The Bell. The Wildcats will then hit the road for two away games, visiting West Virginia on September 27 and South Carolina on October 4 for the unofficial Southeastern Conference Championship. This road stretch will conclude with a game against long-time rival Indiana in Bloomington on October 8.
Kentucky will return home to host Old Dominion on October 11 at 7 p.m. EST, followed by a match against Bradley University on October 15. The team will then travel to face James Madison on October 19 and Central Florida on October 23.
Closing the Regular Season
The Wildcats will wrap up their home conference schedule with matches against Coastal Carolina on October 27 and Marshall on November 1. The regular season will conclude with an away game at Georgia State on November 5.
Sun Belt Conference Tournament
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is set to begin on November 10, with the location to be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.
Home Matches and Additional Information
In total, Kentucky will play 10 matches at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. Details regarding television broadcasts, the promotional schedule, and ticket information for the 2024 season will be announced at a later date.
