Kentucky track and field has announced the signing of All-American transfer Tesa Roberts, as revealed by Head Coach Lonnie Greene. Roberts, a standout sprinter from Chicago, Illinois, joins the Wildcats after four successful seasons at the University of Iowa.
Collegiate Career at Iowa
During her tenure with the Hawkeyes, Roberts competed in a variety of events including the 200 meters, 300 meters, 400 meters, 600 meters, and both the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays. She found significant success in the 4×400 meter relay, anchoring the team to multiple medal finishes at the BIG Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Roberts’ notable achievements include earning First-Team All-American honors by anchoring the 4×400 meter relay team to an eighth-place finish at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships. She leaves Iowa with school records in both the 4×400 meter relay and distance medley relay. Additionally, she holds multiple times that rank in the top 10 all-time at Iowa.
Pre-College Success
Before her collegiate career, Roberts was a dominant force in track and field at the club level, winning multiple state and regional titles in the 400 meters. She was a four-time state track meet qualifier and achieved impressive finishes at the USATF Junior Olympics, placing third in the 1600 meters in 2019 and fifth in the same event in 2018.

Roberts brings a wealth of experience and a history of success to the Kentucky track and field program. Her versatility and proven track record in relay events are expected to be a significant asset to the team.
