Louisville Women’s Basketball to Host Oklahoma in 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge

The 2024-25 Louisville women’s basketball schedule is taking shape with an exciting addition: the Cardinals will host Oklahoma on December 4 in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge. The official tip time and TV designation will be announced later, as revealed by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

This marks the second year of the SEC/ACC Challenge, which debuted in the 2023-24 season. Last year, Louisville traveled to Ole Miss in a Sweet 16 rematch and emerged victorious with a 64-58 win. The inaugural year of the challenge ended in a draw, with both conferences securing seven wins each. Louisville was one of four ACC teams to win their road matchup last season.

The 2024 edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge will feature new participants as both conferences have expanded. The ACC welcomes Stanford, Cal, and SMU, while the SEC sees the addition of Oklahoma and Texas.

Louisville and Oklahoma have faced each other twice before, with the Cardinals holding a 2-0 advantage in the series. Their first encounter was a memorable one, taking place in the 2009 Final Four in St. Louis, where Louisville overcame a halftime deficit to defeat the Sooners and reach their first national championship game. The second meeting occurred in the 2013 Preseason WNIT Final, where the Cardinals secured an overtime victory in Norman.

With this high-profile matchup now set, Louisville fans can look forward to another thrilling season of women’s basketball.
