University of Louisville sophomore Tucker Biven has received an invitation to the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp in Cary, North Carolina. Biven joins fellow Cardinals Patrick Forbes and Zion Rose, marking him as the 21st Louisville player to be selected for the Collegiate National Team.
Biven had a standout sophomore season with the Cardinals, serving as the team’s closer. The right-handed pitcher from New Albany, Indiana, posted a 4-2 record with five saves across 24 relief appearances. He maintained a 3.82 ERA and struck out 40 batters over 35.1 innings of work.
The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp will bring together 55 of the top non-draft-eligible college players for a two-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series on June 26 and 27 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m. ET.
Following the Training Camp, USA Baseball will announce the final Collegiate National Team roster on June 29. This roster will be split into two groups: one for an International Friendship Series and another for a Summer League Tour. The International Friendship Series roster will face Chinese Taipei in a five-game series, while the Summer League Tour roster will compete against select teams from the Appalachian League and the Coastal Plain League in a four-game series. The event will conclude with a matchup between the two U.S. Collegiate National Team rosters on July 4 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
