Zander Carter was straight-up balling for the Ashland Blazer Tomcats in the 2025 KHSAA Sweet 16. The 6’6″ senior is headed to Liberty University, and was the heart and soul of the squad, and he showed out big time. The Tomcats rolled into Lexington on a hot streak, and Carter made sure everyone knew why he was in the mix for Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball.
Throughout the tournament Carter was a beast, averaging 31 points over the event. He was everywhere, scoring, crashing the boards, playin D, he went hard the entire game, spending less than 3 minutes total time on the bench. Zander’s run was unreal, and he showed off his scoring, rebounding, and playmaking.
The dude’s a legend at Ashland already, their all-time leading scorer with over 3,000 career points, and this Sweet 16 just cemented why he’s one of the best to ever do it for the Tomcats. Ashland’s got a crazy basketball history, over 2,000 wins and a ton of talent, and Carter’s numbers make him one of the GOATS.
