Five Kentucky Wildcats Named to 2025 Collegiate All-Commonwealth Team

Five Kentucky Wildcats—Alex Afari Jr., Ty Bryant, Jager Burton, Fred Farrier II, and Josh Kattus—earned spots on the 12th Annual Collegiate All-Commonwealth Team, announced by the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame and presented by Community Trust Bank, per a release from UK Athletics. The preseason award, recognizing the state’s top college football players, honors those who excel on the field and in the classroom while demonstrating leadership potential. Nominated by head coach Mark Stoops, the quintet will be celebrated at a June 27 ceremony in Frankfort and during the Hall of Fame’s Purple Jacket Dinner Party and Induction Ceremony that evening at 6 p.m. ET at Lexington’s Hilton Hotel. Afari, a senior linebacker, led UK with 11.0 tackles for loss among his 62 tackles in 2024. Bryant, a junior defensive back, recorded 41 tackles, an interception, and two forced fumbles. Burton, a senior offensive lineman, started 34 of 38 career games, grading at 99% for assignments last season. Farrier II, a senior wide receiver, added 13 catches for 126 yards after transferring from UAB. Kattus, a senior tight end, hauled in 21 career receptions for 310 yards and five touchdowns, earning SEC Community Service Team honors and a Pop Warner College Football Award finalist nod. All five, communication or community leadership majors, boast impressive academic resumes, including Dean’s List honors, SEC Academic Honor Roll selections, and 2024 Division I Academic All-District recognition for Bryant, Burton, and Kattus. photo courtesy UK Athletics.
