Peyton Siva Joins The Ville as Player-Coach for TBT Louisville Regional

The Ville, Louisville’s alumni team competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) regional at Freedom Hall from July 19-23, bolstered its roster with the addition of former Cardinal star Peyton Siva as player-coach, the team announced Thursday, per a release from TBT. Siva, who has played for The Ville in 2023 and 2024, will work under head coach Luke Hancock while joining a stacked lineup featuring Russ Smith, Montrezl Harrell, David Johnson, Jay Scrubb, and David Sloan, with more roster additions to be revealed soon. A four-year standout at Louisville (2009-13), Siva appeared in 144 games, starting every contest his final three seasons and averaging 9.7 points and 5.5 assists. He led the Cardinals to back-to-back Big East Tournament titles in 2012 and 2013, earning MVP honors both years, and contributed 18 points and five assists in the 2013 National Championship (later vacated). Drafted 56th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2013, Siva played in the NBA, G League, and overseas before retiring in 2023. In 2024, he joined Louisville’s coaching staff, helping the Cardinals secure their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2019 and their highest win total since 2015. The Ville, hosting the Louisville Regional, has clinched home-court advantage for the TBT quarterfinals (July 29), semifinals (July 31), and $1 million championship game (Aug. 3) after being the first region to sell 4,000 tickets, setting the stage for Siva to make an impact on and off the court.
