Kentucky Wildcats Basketball Brandon Garrison – Media Day 2025

Kentucky Wildcats mens basketball player Brandon Garrison previews the 2025-26 season during Media Day 2025.

Brandon Garrison’s 2024-25 campaign at Kentucky was straight up gritty, the kind of season that turns heads in the SEC and lets Big Blue fans know there’s a dog in the paint. The 6’10 sophomore handled his business all year, suiting up for all 35 games and putting up a smooth 5.9 points, 3.9 boards, and 1.9 dimes a night, while shooting over 50% from the field.

But those numbers don’t tell the whole story: Garrison had seven double-figure scoring nights and consistently made his presence felt all over the box score. He led the Wildcats in blocks and steals seven times each, quarterbacked the offense from the high post, and hit the glass when it mattered. In the big ones, like a season-high 15 against LSU, 13 in that March Madness dub over Troy, or nearly triple-double hunting vs. Jackson State, Garrison brought that edge and hustle you have to respect.

He locked up SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, and when the lights were brightest, NCAA Tournament, upsets over Tennessee, Florida, and Duke, Garrison delivered big buckets, key stops, and smooth playmaking. So while the stat line is steady, the highlights, leadership, and go-hard mentality made Garrison one of Kentucky’s true glue guys in a year when the Wildcats needed every ounce of his fight and IQ. Next year? Expect him to level up even more as he grows into a veteran role in Coach Pope’s system. Big Blue got a real one holding it down in Lexington.
