**The following is a submission from the USA Swimming Hometown Media Center at Olympic Trials in Omaha, NE. **
Two backstrokers from UK — Bridgette Alexander and Danielle Galyer — swam in the final of the 200-meter backstroke tonight.

Galyer finished fifth in a UK-record 2:09.31, with Alexander placing eighth in 2:11.41.
In the semifinals, Alexander clocked in at 2:09.83, making her just the second UK swimmer to ever break the 2:10.00 barrier, just .08 seconds off Galyer’s previous school record. She cut more than 2.5 seconds off her seed time, going from the 29th-seeded swimmer to earn the No. 6 seed going into finals.
