Following a home stand that featured three wins – two against ranked opposition – and a draw, No. 20/9 Kentucky will begin a two-match road trip at Evansville Wednesday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. The match will streamed live on WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
The setup
Kentucky enters ranked No. 20 in the NSCAA Coaches’ Poll and No. 9 in the Rating Percentage Index, which was released Monday.
The Wildcats enter Wednesday’s match with a 2016 record of won 6, lost 2, drew 2 (2-1-0 Conference USA).
The Wildcats are 4-1-2 in non-conference matches, including 1-1 in away non-conference matches.
The Evansville game will be Kentucky’s penultimate regular-season non-conference match, and the final road trip outside league play.
Evansville is 6-4-1 this season.
Jordan Wilson is the reigning Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, after he scored the winner against No. 14/15 Charlotte on Sunday while also playing a key role in shutting out the nation’s No. 8 scoring offense.
Kentucky has had C-USA’s Defensive Player of the Week two weeks in a row, as goalkeeper Stuart Ford earned the honor last week.
Kentucky has the nation’s No. 8 goals-against average offense (0.46).
The precedent
Last year Kentucky won its second in a row against Evansville to take a 5-4 advantage in the all-time series. The Wildcats defeated Evansville in Evansville in 2014.
