Thomas More College junior guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week today (Tuesday, January 3, 2017) by the PAC office.
Owings averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 assists, 4.0 steals and 3.3 rebounds per game during sixth-ranked Thomas More’s recent 3-0 stretch. She finished with a game-high 16 points in a 61-59 win over Wilmington College in the championship game of the Quakers’ Fred Raizk Memorial Classic on December 21, and became the program’s 17th 1,000-point scorer in an 87-59 win over Ohio Christian University on Dec. 20.
Owings and the Saints return to action tonight as they are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to play Chatham University at 6 p.m.
