The Excite Night meet on Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. will be packed with nationally ranked gymnastics and a star, as Kirstin Maldonado from the award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix will be in attendance.
Maldonado is a member of the award winning a cappella group Pentatonix. The group became stars after entering and winning the third season of the NBC’s reality show, The Sing-Off. Since their rise to stardom, the group has sold over 5.7 million albums in the U.S. alone. They have won two Grammy Awards and their YouTube channel boasts more than 12 million subscribers, yielding over 2 billion video views. Their 2015 self-titled album has been certified gold after debuting No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200. The 2016 Forbes 30 under 30 lists Maldonado as one of the leading entrepreneurs and talents in the music industry.
Fans will have a chance to meet her in a meet-and-greet on Friday. To be a part of the meet and greet, fans must share the latest post on the Kentucky Gymnastics Facebook page for a chance to win a Golden Ticket. From there, a select group of fans will be get to the meet the singing sensation.
Doors to the coliseum will open 90 minutes before the start of the meet. The ticket office and player-guest pass table, located off Lexington Avenue, will be open at that time. Students will be admitted free of charge by showing a valid ID. Faculty and staff are admitted for free, and can bring one guest. Flash photography is strictly prohibited during any gymnastics meet.
All fans will also receive light up pom poms, and will have a chance to receive post-meet team autographs from the Wildcats. All UK students will receive free pizza, and a special edition Kentucky Gymnastics American Girl doll will be given away.
The meet is expected to sell out, so make sure to head to UKathletics.com/tickets to pick up your Excite Night tickets before they run out.
Parking Information
All surrounding E-lots around Memorial Coliseum including the North Craft lot, High Street Lot, Rose Street, and Linden Walk employee lots are available for event parking beginning three and a half hours prior to the start of the meet. Additionally, the South Limestone Garage (PS#5) and the Rose Street Garage (PS#2) are available two hours prior to the start of the meet.
A shuttle is available free of charge from the South Limestone Garage (Parking Structure #5) beginning two hours prior to the start of the meet. The pick-up/drop-off point at the South Limestone Garage is located on Administration Drive. UK asks that all patrons access this pick-up/drop-off location by the sky bridge, accessible from level three of the parking structure. The shuttle pick-up/drop-off location at Memorial Coliseum is located at the front of the Coliseum on Avenue of Champions.
Disability parking is available in the North Craft lot. Spaces are limited and provided on a first come, first served basis with a valid, state-issued disabled parking hangtag.
Please note: Parking is prohibited in any R-lot. Vehicles parking in R-lots without a proper permit, along yellow curbs, grass spaces or other non-specified and unapproved areas may be subject to ticket and/or tow.
