McGraw Joins Murray State Football Staff From Georgia

Murray State head football coach Mitch Stewart announced Monday that former Georgia defensive back Rico McGraw will join the Racers for the 2017 season and has already enrolled in classes at MSU.

McGraw had an outstanding freshman year with the Bulldogs in 2015 playing in nine game and eventually working himself into the starting lineup. The Nashville, Tennessee native finished 2015 with 20 total tackles including a career-high eight at Tennessee and four pass breakups. In 2016, McGraw featured in two games for Georgia before announcing his transfer at the end of the season.

Prior to playing at Georgia, McGraw was a consensus four-star rated prospect by the four major recruiting services and was ranked as high as 117th in various national overall prospect rankings. While at The Ensworth School, helped lead the Tigers to the 2013 TSSAA Division II Class-AA state title and was a back to All-State selection by the Tennessee Sportswriter Association in 2013 and 2014. He capped his high school career by being selected to play in the prestigious 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Despite playing at Georgia for the past two seasons, McGraw is very familiar with Murray State, as his younger brother, Mareio, led the Racers’ rushing attack last season with 571 yards and six touchdowns as a true freshman.
