Louisville WBB’s Asia Durr Voted ACC Player of the Week

University of Louisville women’s basketball’s Asia Durr was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

The sophomore earned the award for the second time this season in a vote by the Blue Ribbon Panel, which is comprised of the league’s media and sports information directors.

Durr, playing in two games last week, averaged 30.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. She connected on 61.1 percent of her shots, hitting 7-of-16 3-point attempts. Durr scored 30 points in consecutive games, becoming the first player since Angel McCoughtry (31 vs. Rutgers, March 8, 2009; 31 vs. Pittsburgh, March 9, 2009) to achieve the feat.

The Douglasville, Ga., native opened the week at No. 7 Notre Dame with 31 points on 10-of-18 shooting. It was the most points scored by a player against the Fighting Irish this season. She followed with 30 on 12-of-18 shooting at Virginia Tech, again collecting six rebounds.

Recently named to the Naismith Top 30 and the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Midseason List, Durr is pacing the Cardinals in scoring at 17.9 points to go with 45 assists and 36 steals. She has connected on 85 3-pointers, sixth-most nationally, and boasts 30-consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer.
