The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) today announced its baseball Players of the Week for games through Sunday, Feb. 19 with Centre infielder Seth Hagan (Goshen, Ky.) garnering Player of the Week honors.
Hagan becomes the first Colonel to be selected as SAA Player of the Week since Jake Johnson in 2013.
He hit a sizzling .727 with a home run, six runs batted in, six runs scored, a pair of stolen bases and a walk in his collegiate debut weekend with the Colonels.
The freshman posted a .786 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage, helping Centre earn a three-game sweep of Coast Guard to open the 2017 campaign at Perfect Game Lakepoint in Emerson, Ga.
Hagan finished 4-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, three runs and a walk in Centre’s first win over the Bears, before following that up with a 3-for-4 performance in the night cap of the doubleheader with one RBI, three runs and two stolen bases.
He capped the weekend going 1-for-3 at the plate in Sunday’s 8-0 victory over Coast Guard.
Hagan and the Colonels open the home portion of the 2017 schedule with a doubleheader against Defiance this Saturday, Feb. 25 beginning at 2 p.m. ET at Gary Wright Field.
