Louisville’s Edwin Kibichiy was named the ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week. Kibichiy is one of four student-athletes who posted nation-leading times or marks in their respective events join another who ranks second nationally to comprise the second group of Atlantic Coast Conference Performers of the Week of the 2017 Outdoor Track and Field season.
Clemson’s Ersula Farrow and NC State’s Erika Kemp are the ACC Co-Women’s Track Performers of the Week.
A pair of Florida State throwers are this week’s top Field Performers, with Austin Droogsma representing on the men’s side and Kellion Knibb taking women’s honors.
Kibichiy won his first event of the outdoor season in the men’s 10,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State on Friday evening. He set a new school record with a nation-leading time of 28:38.06. The Kapsabet, Kenya, senior broke Michael Eaton’s school record of 28:41.96 set in 2007 at the Mt. SAC Relays.
