Bellarmine men’s tennis coasts past Oakland City

The Bellarmine University men’s tennis team romped 9-0 over Oakland City on Wednesday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.

Seniors Jose Legarreta (No. 1 singles/No. 1 doubles) and Zachary Kuo (No. 2 singles/No. 1 doubles), sophomores Lauren de Boeck (No. 3 singles/No. 2 doubles) and L.J. Allara (No. 5 singles/No. 2 doubles) and freshman Andrew Jones (No. 4 singles/No. 3 doubles) won two matches apiece for Bellarmine (5-11).

Junior Matthew Momper (No. 3 doubles) and sophomore Vladimir Danicic (No. 6 singles) chipped in one win apiece.

The Knights combined to go 24-1 over the three doubles matches and didn’t drop a game in three of the singles matches. In two other singles matches, they dropped only one game and in another just two.

Bellarmine hosts Saint Joseph’s on Friday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest.
