Austin Sherrell Becomes the Newest Addition to Kentucky State MBB Roster

Kentucky State University men’s basketball announced the signing of 6 foot 6 guard Austin Sherrell on Wednesday afternoon.

Sherrell, a native of Detroit, Michigan spent the last two season at Sheridan College in Wyoming. During his sophomore season as a part of the Generals’ program, Sherrell averaged eight points and five rebounds per game.

Before joining the collegiate ranks, Sherrell racked up several accolades at New Haven High School. As a senior he averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game, helping NHHS to a 25-1 record while picking up district and region championships. Due to his stellar play for the Rockets, Sherrell earned Team MVP, First Team All-League, and First Team All-County. He was also named to seven separate All-State teams in Michigan, including the Associated Press and Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan teams.

Once Sherrell arrives in the Capitol City for the 2017 fall semester, he’ll have two years of eligibility.
