After anchoring two Kentucky men’s soccer wins last week, freshman goalkeeper Enrique Facusse was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Facusse kept a clean sheet at Memphis on Saturday, making two saves in the process.
The Honduran played great in the 2-1 double-overtime win at East Tennessee State University midweek, notably making two high degree of difficulty saves as regulation closed and then in the first overtime to keep UK in with a chance.
His 0.30 goals-against average in 295 minutes in goal through three games this season leads C-USA and ranks 14th nationally.
He’s the first Wildcat to be named C-USA Player of the Week this season.
Kentucky will play at Louisville on Tuesday, before beginning the C-USA regular season against University of Alabama-Birmingham at The Bell on Friday.
