Kentucky State University volleyball turned in a complete team effort against rival Central State University for a 3-0 sweep on Thursday night.
The Thorobrettes (22-11, 14-4) swept the Lady Marauders (6-25, 5-13) for the second time in 2017, dominating each set winning by double-digits in five of six sets played.
KSU recorded a season-high 16 aces, seven of which coming from freshman middle blocker Jalynn Roberts. CU recorded only 17 kills on the night while committing 17 errors in the process.
Freshman outside hitter Makayla Martin led the way in kills with 10 for her team-leading 12th match of double-digit kills. She turned an attack percentage of .333, notching only the third time in 2017 she finished with .300 or better.
Sophomore setter Hannah Smyers picked up a match-high 21 assists without committing an error on the night, marking the 10th time this year she has not committed a miscue.
KSU will put an end to the regular season at the Exum Center on Tuesday, Nov. 7 for its last tune-up before the SIAC Championship Tournament against Asbury University. The Thorobrettes will honor senior Ariana Gregory before first serve at 7 pm ET.
