Tim Coleman recorded a game-high 18 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals for the Tigers (7-1). Six players reached double figures on Saturday with Shawn Johnson recording 16 points, while Hagen Tyler and Adam Stanford each recorded 14 points apiece.
Johnson was a rebound shy of a double-double and Stanford was two rebounds shy of a double-double. Off the bench, Andrew Smith recorded 11 points, eight boards and three blocks, while Deion Evans finished the game with 10 points.
Dillon Geralds led the Bearcats (1-6) with 16 points – 12 in the first half – and nine rebounds, which all came in the first 20 minutes of play. Kayode Daboiku chipped in with 14 points.
Campbellsville got off to a sluggish start as Brescia jumped out to a 10-5 lead. After the scored was tied at 24 points, Johnson made a layup with 8:29 to play in the first half and the Tigers never looked back. Campbellsville stretched its lead to 36-28, but the Bearcats kept the game within reach as the Tigers held a 40-34 advantage at the half.
Over the first 20 minutes of action, the Tigers hit 44.7 percent of its shots, compared to 35.7 percent from Brescia. The Bearcats controlled the glass in the first half with 24 rebounds, while Campbellsville compiled just 19. Brescia had 11 of its rebound come on the offensive end of the floor.
After the Bearcats scored the first bucket of the second half, the Tigers ran away with the game scoring the next 17 points to extend its lead to 57-36 at the 15:35 mark in the second stanza. The Bearcats missed five-straight shots during that stretch and turned the ball over twice.
Brescia cut its deficit to 14 points, but Campbellsville did not let the Bearcats get any closer. A 16-1 run from the Tigers iced the game as they took their largest lead of the day, 92-60, with 3:26 left in the game. Campbellsville picked up its third-straight win with a 101-70 victory over Brescia.
The Tigers flipped the script in the second half and held a 28-10 rebounding edge over the Bearcats in the second half and outrebounded the Bearcats for the game, 47-34, which set a new season-best for the Tigers. The 61 points Campbellsville scored in the final 20 minutes is the most the Tigers have scored in a half this season. After shooting 62.9 percent in the second half, Campbellsville finished the game shooting 53.4 percent. The Bearcats only shot 33.8 percent overall.
Both teams combined to take 150 shots on Saturday with the Tigers shooting the ball 73 times – a season-high – and the Bearcats attempted 77 shots, which is the most from a Campbellsville opponent this season.
This is the third time within the last eight days that the Tigers have surpassed the century mark as they now average 90.9 points per game, while allowing the opposition to score 68.9 points a game.
Campbellsville returns to action on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET to face Simmons College of Kentucky at the Powell Athletic Center.
