EKU Punter Keith Wrzuszczak Chosen To Hero Sports All-American Team

Eastern Kentucky University punter Keith Wrzuszczak was chosen to the HERO Sports 2017 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America Team, the organization announced last week. Wrzuszczak was chosen to the second team.

This is the fourth organization to recognize Wrzuszczak as an All-American. He was previously selected to the 2017 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Coaches’ All-America First Team, the 2017 STATS FCS All-America Second Team and the 2017 Phil Steele FCS All-America Fourth Team.

Eastern kentucky University FootballThe senior set a pair of program records this season while finishing first in the conference and sixth in the nation with an average of 44.1 yards per punt. He broke the 51-year-old EKU record of 78 yards with an 84-yard punt against Tennessee-Martin. It was the second-longest punt in FCS this season. Wrzuszczak also broke his own program season average record (43.7 yards/punt), which he set in 2015.

In 2017 the Geelong, Victoria, Australia native punted 58 times with only five touchbacks. He placed 19 punts inside the 20 yard line and had 11 punts of 50 or more yards. He helped Eastern lead the conference and finish second in the nation in net punting (41.14 yards/punt).

Wrzuszczak was a preseason All-America pick by STATS and earned STATS Honorable Mention National Special Teams Player of the Week recognition twice.
