Campbellsville MBB moves into receiving votes section of NAIA Division I Coaches’ Poll

For the first regular-season poll this season, the Campbellsville men’s basketball team moved outside of the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, but the Tigers are still receiving votes, the national office announced on Tuesday evening.

After dropping its last three games, Campbellsville moved from No. 15 to start 2018 to six spots outside of the poll with 10 total points this week. The Tigers sit at 15-4 on the season and are 0-3 to start the Mid-South Conference season.

Lindsey Wilson College is the highest ranked MSC team in the poll as it sits at No. 2 overall with 211 points and four of the nine first-place votes. The Blue Raiders are the only unbeaten team left in the NAIA with a record of 17-0.

Georgetown College is tied for fifth in the ranking with Columbia College after both teams picked up 186 voting points this week. Georgetown is 17-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Mid-South. University of Pikeville slipped out of the top 10 and is No. 12 in the rating with 143 points and a record of 16-2.

University of the Cumberlands moved up to 18th with 95 points and holds a record of 14-3. Life University is the final team from the MSC ranked in the top 25 as it jumped into the poll and holds on to the 25th spot with 50 points. The Running Eagles have gone 2-1 in the conference and they are 13-5 overall.

William Penn University took over the No. 1 spot in the national poll with four first-place votes and 215 points. Louisiana State University-Shreveport picked up the final first-place vote and ranks third in the national ranking with 205 points. The final team mentioned in the top five is The Master’s College with 201 voting points.

Campbellsville returns to action on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET at home against Pikeville.

The next regular-season ranking is going to be released on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
