Madison Stewart, Madison Kaiser and Savannah Gregory also scored in double figures en route to Campbellsville’s 68-63 victory.
The Lady Tigers (19-3, 5-1 Mid-South Conference) dominated the first half of play against the Blue Raiders (16-4, 3-2 MSC) outscoring them 26-12 in the paint and forcing 17 turnovers. Campbellsville also collected 10 steals in the first half 10 minutes of action – seven of which came from Kaiser and Gregory.
The Lady Tiger bench came alive combining for 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists to allow them to lead by 10 points headed into the second half.
The third quarter showed adversity as Lindsey Wilson held Campbellsville scoreless for almost four minutes. With 1:55 left on the clock, Faulkner was able to end the drought by collecting her 12th point of the game driving to the basket.
Lindsey Wilson committed 11 miscues in the third stanza with eight turnovers and allowing Campbellsville to steal the ball three times. The Lady Tigers were not able to capitalize on the Blue Raider turnovers only scoring two points off the Lindsey Wilson errors.
The fourth quarter rang a different tune, as Lindsey Wilson was able to outscore Campbellsville for the final quarter of the game, 20-12.
With 6:58 left on the clock in the fourth period, the Lady Tigers got on the board for the first time in over two minutes with a three by Gregory – her second of the night – to give Campbellsville a 59-49 advantage.
Lindsey Wilson began to make their final push towards a comeback, cutting the deficit to just seven with three minutes left to play after a foul was called against Lindsey Wilson’s Kayla Styles.
With under a minute remaining, a foul called against Stewart sent Reagan Turner to the line for Lindsey Wilson. Turner was able to bring the game within four after she knocked down both free throws.
The Blue Raiders had possession with 18 seconds left in regulation, but an offensive foul on Teanna Curry allowed the Lady Tigers to regain the ball with a 67-63 lead.
A foul on Stewart sent her to the line to collect her 13th point and secure a 68-63 victory on the road for the Lady Tigers.
Lindsey Wilson ended the game committing a season high 28 turnovers and Campbellsville was able to capitalize off the miscues with 22 points.
Styles led all scores in the game 30 points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Tigers outscored the Blue Raiders 40-24 in the paint, while Campbellsville’s bench also outscored Lindsey Wilson’s, 27-12, as the duo of Stewart and Kaiser combined 24 of the Lady Tigers’ bench points.
Campbellsville is back on the road Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET against Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
