Thomas More Wrestling Finishes 13th at John Summa Invitational

The Thomas More College wrestling team finished 13th today (Saturday, February 3, 2018) at the John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University inside the Lou Higgins Center in Berea, Ohio.

The Saints tallied 26.5 points to finished 13th in the 15-team field.

First-year Jimmy Traub (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) finished fourth at 157 with a 3-2 record. He opened with an 18-0 technical fall, a 22-5 technical fall and a 6-4 sudden victory, but was pinned in the semifinals and lost a 7-6 decision in the third place match.

First-year Tyler Sarreshteh (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty Benton) posted a 3-2 record at 149 with a 13-7 decision, an 11-4 decision and a 4-2 decision. First-year Ryan Hatcher was 2-2 at 285 as he had a 2-1 decision and a pin in 2:51.

First-year Kenny Byers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) was 1-2 at 133, first-year Gavin Foushee (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) was 1-2 at 149, first-year Andrew Tevis (Trenton, Ohio/Edgewood) was 1-2 at 149 and sophomore Joseph Marino (Fort Wright, Ky./Covington Catholic) was 1-2 at 285.

Thomas More returns to action on February 10 when it travels to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship hosted by Waynesburg University.
