Following an overtime loss at Xavier on Monday, the Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will look to bounce back at USC Upstate on Wednesday night. Tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at G.B. Hodge Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

WHAT TO KNOW
EKU (2-1) gave host Xavier all it could handle on Monday night at the Cintas Center. The Colonels trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half, but slowly chipped away at the deficit throughout the second half. A buzzer-beating three-pointer by junior Tre King forced overtime, but Eastern eventually fell 99-96.
King finished with career highs in points (25) and rebounds (13) to earn his second double-double of the season.
Redshirt freshman Curt Lewis (20 points) and junior Cooper Robb (19 points) also scored career highs on Monday.
EKU won the turnover battle versus Xavier, 25-11.
Five Colonels are currently averaging double figures, led by King’s 18.3 points-per-game.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
USC Upstate (0-2) fell to South Carolina Wesleyan, 82-72, in its opener, and then lost to Furman, 91-63, last Saturday.
Bryson Mozone paces the Spartans offensively at 13.0 points-per-game.
This is the third all-time meeting between EKU and USC Upstate. The series is tied, 1-1. The Colonels fell to the Spartans, 79-67, last season in Spartanburg.
