The Mid-South Conference announced their Men’s Basketball Player of the Week this afternoon and for the first time in his career, sophomore Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) was honored. He is the third different Saint to be named player of the week this season.
After a solid 12-point performance against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Friday afternoon, where he shot 4-7 from the field, he followed it up with a career-high 25 against Roosevelt University Saturday. He was 9-13 from the field against the Lakers and was 3-4 from beyond the arc. He had three rebounds against the Fighting Saints and four against Roosevelt to go along with three assists in both contests.
George now has 11 games this season scoring in double-figures, with seven in a row. He is second on the team, averaging 12.1 points per game, and is second in total scoring with 170 points. He is tied for second on the team with 24 assists and is third on the team with 52 rebounds.
Thomas More returns to MSC action Thursday night in the Connor Convocation Center, taking on Campbellsville University at 7:30 p.m.
