๐Ÿ€ Murray State WBB Falls to Missouri State 77-61 in Tough Loss

The Murray State womenโ€™s basketball team suffered a tough loss on Sunday, falling to Missouri State 77-61 at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The game started off on a rough note for the Racers, as Missouri State opened the game on an 8-0 run and outscored Murray State 26-9 in the first quarter, a deficit from which the Racers would never recover.

Throughout the game, Murray State struggled to find their footing on both ends of the court. They were outshot by Missouri State 54.0-39.6, and outrebounded 40-21. Katelyn Young led the Racers in scoring with 13 points, while Alexis Burpo followed with 10. On the boards, Young and Burpo pulled down a team-high five rebounds each, while Hannah McKay added five of her own.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Racers. After a rough outing at the free throw line on Friday, they seemed to have returned to form on Sunday, going 18-for-22 for 81.8-percent.

The Racers will now hit the road for eight of their last 12 games of the season, beginning with a four-game road swing on Friday. They will travel to Evansville for a game against the Purple Aces, with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Meeks Field Fieldhouse. With a record of X-X, the Racers will be looking to bounce back from this loss and make a strong push towards the end of the season.
