University of Louisville men’s golfers Max Kennedy and Jiri Zuska were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team on Thursday.
Kennedy, a junior from Dublin, Ireland, and Zuska, a fifth-year senior from Kladno, Czech Republic, were both instrumental in helping the Cardinals earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Louisville is the No. 5 seed in the Morgan Hill Regional, which begins play on Monday, May 15, in San Jose, Calif.
Kennedy led the Cardinals with a 70.93 stroke average this season, which ranks in the top five in school history. He was named the ACC Player of the Week on March 7 after winning the Aggie Invitational. Kennedy also finished tied for second at the Aggie Invitational and tied for sixth at the ACC Championship.
Zuska posted a 71.52 stroke average this season. He finished tied for second at the Aggie Invitational and tied for sixth at the ACC Championship. Zuska has appeared in 54 career events for Louisville and has picked up 19 top-10 finishes.
“I’m very proud of Max and Jiri for being named to the All-ACC Team,” said U of L head coach Mark Iles. “They’ve both had outstanding seasons and have been very consistent for us all year. They’re two of the best players in the ACC and I’m confident they’ll both be able to contribute to our success in the NCAA Regional.”
The Cardinals will be looking to advance to the NCAA Championship for the second consecutive season. U of L finished tied for 10th at the NCAA Championship last year.
