Louisville MGolf Remains 11th at NCAA Baton Rouge Regional

The No. 8-seeded University of Louisville men’s golf team shot a 13-over-par 301 for the second consecutive day, holding steady in 11th place after two rounds at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at LSU’s University Club.

Top Five Advance to NCAA Championships

The top five teams from each of the six NCAA regional sites will advance to the NCAA Championships, scheduled for May 24-29 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Currently, Louisville is 19 shots behind the fifth-place cutoff.

Current Standings

Virginia leads the regional at 6-under-par despite a 2-over-par round on Tuesday. Auburn is second at 1-under-par, followed by Texas Tech, Duke, and Ohio State rounding out the top five.

Moss Leads the Cardinals

Sebastian Moss led the Cardinals with an even-par 72, placing him in a tie for 16th. Moss recorded three birdies on holes 15, 17, and 18, but a double bogey on No. 7 and an additional bogey on the front nine kept him from climbing higher.

Other Notable Performances

Max Kennedy shot a 76, putting him in a tie for 27th. Cooper Claycomb improved significantly from Monday’s round, shooting a 1-over-par 73 to move into a tie for 55th place. Easton Johnson and Patrick Keeling both shot 80, placing them in 57th and a tie for 65th, respectively.

Third Round Tee Times

Louisville, along with Lipscomb and Yale, will start the third round at 10:25 a.m. ET from the tenth tee. The Cardinals aim to close the gap and finish strong in the final round.
